Values of a Betta (Valores de un Betta)

This 18" x 24" painting, was a class assignment in which the objective was to paint colorful figures with a black and white value of a real life object. By the time I did this painting I had a Betta fish who was the  inspiration to making this acrylic painting. Choosing the colors blue, yellow and orange I found that would help balance the painting. Since blue and orange are known to be complementary colors and theme I was going for was underwater. To making the squares neat as possible, I used tape so that way the painting would look clean. As well I made the shapes of the squares to vary to have a rhythm to them. What I also put a lot of thought on was to it looking more dynamic. To which the flow of the Betta helped make possible. It is also important when working on a black and white realist painting to take in consideration the grey values, it helps the object be more life like.

Esta pintura de 18 "x 24" fue una tarea de clase en la que el objetivo era pintar figuras coloridas con un valor en blanco y negro de un objeto de la vida real. Cuando hice esta pintura, yo tenía un pez Betta que fue la inspiración para hacer esta pintura acrílica. La elección de los colores azul, amarillo y naranja encontré que ayudaría a equilibrar la pintura. Dado a que se sabe que el azul y el naranja son colores complementarios, el tema que queria presentar era bajo el agua. Para hacer los cuadrados lo más ordenado posible, utilice cinta adhesiva para que la pintura se viera limpia. También hice que las formas de los cuadrados variaran para que tuvieran un ritmo. Igual pensé en que pareciera más dinámico. A lo que la fluidez del Betta ayudó a hacer posible. También es importante cuando se trabaja en una pintura realista en blanco y negro tener en cuenta los valores de gris, ya que ayuda al objeto parecer que tiene vida.
