The "Coquí" is a 2"x 2" dry-point. When I first made this small dry-point my intention was to plan how it would look in a bigger size. In addition, I was planning that the artwork would be mixed media, watercolor to be exact. After I did the first print I found that the small size made it more appealing since an actual Coquí is small. I got my inspiration from the artists Rembrandt and Goya. They both worked in dry-point etching, which were a good sources of study.
I am very satisfied with this artwork it really caught the eye of many people because of it's size and it being one of Puerto Rico's national wild life species. A small frog with a big voice one can say who has heard them.

El "Coquí" es un grabado de punta seca de 2 "x 2". Cuando la hice por primera vez esta pequeña pieza, mi intención era planificar cómo se vería en un tamaño más grande. Además, tenia planificado que la obra de arte fuera de medios mixto, con acuarela para ser exacta. Después de hacer la primera impresión, descubrí que el tamaño pequeño lo hacía más atractivo ya que un Coquí real es pequeño. Me inspiré en los artistas Rembrandt y Goya. Ambos trabajaron en el grabado a punta seca, que fue una buena fuente de estudio.
Estoy muy satisfecha con esta obra de arte ya que llamó la atención de muchas personas debido a su tamaño y por ser una de las especies de vida silvestre nacional de Puerto Rico. Una pequeña rana con una gran voz puede decir quién la ha escuchado.
